DR. SINGHAL’S BACKGROUND

Dr. Saurabh Singhal received his medical education and surgical training from the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, where he received training in complex GI surgical cases and transplant surgery (live-related and cadaveric renal transplants). He was twice awarded the gold medal in surgery, first in MBBS and then in MS. After spending 12 years at this stellar institute, he moved on to one of the best centers in the United States of America to master the techniques and intricacies of esophageal disorders. He further learned laparoscopic esophagogastric and hepatobiliary surgery. With that mastery in his lap, he worked at the Department of Liver Transplant and HPB surgery at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, New Delhi for nearly 4 years. He has been in the field of Liver Transplant since 2017 and has been a part of more than 350 liver transplants and many more complex HPB surgeries.

Dr. Singhal has extensively worked and published articles on various benign and malignant GI and hepatobiliary disorders. He also published more than 30 major scientific papers and chapters in highly acclaimed and high-impact international journals. Dr. Singhal’s clinical and research interests include HCC, portal vein thrombosis, chylous ascites, customized reduction of liver grafts, and short- and long-term outcomes following pediatric liver transplantations. Dr. Singhal currently leads the ongoing trials on targeting molecular markers to identify patients at risk of portal thrombosis in patients receiving Living Donor Liver Transplantation.
